Earlier this month, YourFellowArab, or Arab for short, tweeted that he was going on a trip to an unspecified location, implying that there's a possibility that he would be endangering his life. Visiting a foreign country to shoot videos isn't uncommon. After a couple of weeks, news outlets and streamers close to Arab, like Lalem, confirmed that the YouTuber had been taken hostage by a gang in Haiti for over two weeks now.

According to a Haiti24 report translated by Dexerto, Arab and his companion were seized by the 400 Mawozo gang, the largest active criminal group in Haiti. The gang is also demanding a $600,000 ransom to release the two hostages, with $40,000 reportedly already paid. As of writing, both the US and Haitian governments have yet to address the matter.

This is a classic case of "fuck around and find out". Why on earth would he think that this is even the slightest of good ideas.

There are places you just aren't meant to go. It's always the wrong place, therefore always at the wrong time.

There are some on Twitter that are speculating that he wasn't even kidnapped in the first place because in his first tweet back he thanked God and not the "rainbow people".

This is very much the case here.

I do wonder, was there a fund drive to fund his ransom. It is a horrible thing to think of, but going from kidnapped in on of the most lawless places on the planet right now to making a racial and sexuality stance on Twitter about the kidnappers is a pretty questionable chain of events in under a week.

Also, does Hatit have a desert?

Considering it's on an island in the Atlantic Ocean, I would say no lol.
